  1. Tried this method, with some modifications, VERY satisfied with the results:

I covered the steaks in olive oil, using salt and pepper as seasoning.

I seared each steak for 30 seconds on each side in a stainless steel skillet (which itself was heated in the broiler for 20 minutes).

I wanted my steaks to come out medium, so I cooked them for 8 minutes on one side, and 7 minutes on the other (I guesstimated they were about 1.25" in thickness).

Once I removed the steaks I spread a pat of butter (Kerrygold's salted, if anyone cares) on them as they rested, covered in foil, for five minutes.

The result was the perfect amount of pink in the middle, and tender, juicy steaks.

    Hope this helps someone.

  2. Actually the best way to cook a steak is in a conventional oven & you don't use broil.. You use bake at 300F & you leave it in at 300F for approximately 10 to 15 min. This breaks down the callogen into a gell. After that time is up, I like to flip the steak to heat evenly, (both elements don't heat evenly) then you raise the temp to 400F to give a quick cook. It will be tender & juicy.. Nooice! Just about any cut will melt in your mouth.

  3. I don't know if anyone here tried this receipt? But i tried and i did not work. I transformed the Farenheit to Celsius and it magically worked. Had someone the same issue? Because 170 F are 86 C and i Don't it it really works on meat

  4. This isn't cooking a steak in the oven, it's cooking steak under a broiler. Not all ovens have broilers, not all broilers are in ovens.

  5. Hmm indoors I usually cook on a hot cast iron pan. Sometimes…the smoke is a little …too much so I do them in the oven now n then. gotta cook it on full blast though. blazing hot oven. gotta make sure the steak is dry. add a glaze of butter before cooking. on a rack and do not turn for a better top sear. it's not as good as cast iron frying. but ess harsh on the house upholstery.
