#ad Thank you Open Wardrobe for sponsoring today’s video! Click HERE to download the free app! https://openwardrobe.page.link/v2EF

On this channel, I share #slowfashion and #sustainablefashion tips that center around how to #shopyourcloset, and restyling pieces you already own. I also spotlight brands that I believe in every now and then. I believe in #creativityoverconsumption, and that we all have the power to be conscious consumers.

Slow fashion looks different for everyone, and I’m so grateful you share this space with me!

  1. ❤❤❤ I love Pinterest. I pick an outfit and then go to my closet to pull out similar pieces. Bingo! ????????????????????????????

  2. I like planning at least 3-4 work outfits at once. Not only is it a time saver, but you can have outfits prepared for different temperatures.

  3. yes, a lack of mental space and decision fatigue… that is the issue for me.. so, after years of struggles I decided to let other people do the thinking and now I shamelessly copy outfits, haha… I have a file filled with pictures of outfits.. I made it a habit to save every picture which features clothing pieces similar to what is in my wardrobe already. Additionally, when I shop online I save a picture of the outfit presented with the piece that I am buying.. as often I buy a piece because I like the styling presented… I also limited myself in options by deciding that my style is "old money" and I do not pay attention to the trends too much… anyways I noticed that it is much easier to be "trendy" as my wardrobe has many classic pieces that are also very basic… with an addition of "trendy" bag or belt or shoes or hat I can easily "update" my wardrobe

  4. what do I do when I want to wear everything and can't decide out of like 20 ideas??? That is my main problem. I have put in so much work into my wardrobe and love everything I have and so I want to wear it all the one day a month I go to the office….

  5. Ok I love your videos. I have to know the brand name jeans with the flat front pockets. I love them. I found a close pair by Lauren Conrad at Kohls.

  6. Alyssa, This is one of your BEST videos yet…… It is a great joy for me to see you blossom and come into your own, into who you are….. I find technology annoying because it is too constricting for me. It cannot keep up with me and my vision. That said, I downloaded the wardrobe app. I’ll try it. I may even consult you privately! You GO GIRL!!! M

  7. I've downloaded the app to compare with My Closet, which I already have. It has some nice features, and I can have it on my phone and tablet instead of just one. However, I'm not sure that I can face re-photographing everything, and My Closet is more versatile for some things. Maybe I will keep Open Closet just just for holiday planning and the information and community.

  8. Could you please do a video on styling for those who live in hot and humid climates? Our climate is very warm (80's-100's °F) with 80% humidity for 75% of the year. Putting together outfits that are stylish and yet comfortable is very challenging. I am almost 60 and feel uncomfortable wearing shorts when going to appointments, but prefer separates. Variety seems to be sacrificed, and I always end up in the exact same types of clothes for months on end. Thank you for any help you can give !

  9. Totally agree about last-minute decisions being an issue! If I can spend some time working something out, I can work it out. ????

  10. When you’re traveling with a limited capsule, how do you keep your basic white Oxford shirt fresh, wrinkle free, when wearing multiple days? I prefer to wear classic buttoned, well structured cotton blouses, dressed up & down. But I have difficulty limiting the number! Thanks!

  11. The easiest way to have a wardrobe you love is to prioritize those items you LOVE, LOVE, LOVE! Wear them a lot! Meanwhile, let go of anything so-so. (Why wear less-than?) A small, well-curated wardrobe ensures that you look good/feel good 100% of the time. Why settle for anything less?

  12. On the contrary, I feel so excited about the choice in my wardrobe that I have) That's why I keep my wardrobe maximalistic, in order to have a choice

  13. I plan my weekly wardrobe on Sundays based on weather and what’s on my calendar. It’s helped me continue my no buy plan for 2023 for another month. I made it through Q1 and had so much fun shopping my closet. Your channel has been so valuable over the past 2 years. I finally enjoy getting dressed and putting outfits together.
