  1. Question will white gold test that way? Will it bubble because of the white plate first?

  2. First of all, I noticed you don't respond to any (?) of the comments, boooo.
Secondly, the magnet test is not a good test. The gold will react or not, based on what other metal alloys it is mixed with, for strength. Some alloys are magnetic like steel, some alloys are not like brass. Third, I find it interesting that the tests you suggest scratch or mar your piece, whether it is gold or not. I'm assuming that you're assuming, that the piece would ultimately be melted down.

  3. Ohhh cool. Chemistry class in high school wasn't fun but watching these chemical reactions was kinda interesting.

  4. Can gold plated jewelry react to a magnet? Is there a chance that there is a still a thin layer of real gold there and the rest of the other metals underneath?

  5. today i found a 18k ring it weighted 15.9g i went to get it tested they said it was fake. i checked it with the magnet and it didnt stick now im doing the clorox test and the gold color is not fading why is that??? did they try to rob me or what happen ????

  6. You can drag it across your face or wrist and if it is real gold it will leave grey marks similar to what a pencil will do.

  7. That time you are engaged and something just makes you curious to find out if your ring is fake or real……damn, humans 🙂

  8. yea ill buy it first, and then test it…..better buy from proper jewelers. damn
