  1. Oh 😍 now I need to get some butternut squash! I'm craving homemade ravioli with sage butter 😋

  2. Recipe! I want to share a family Thanksgiving recipe. My favorite version is with butternut squash, but yellow crookneck squash is actually considered the original.
    Preheat oven to 300°
2 lbs squash, if butternut: cut in half, remove seeds, bake until done, discard skin. If yellow squash: boil and mash.
1 stick butter, melted. Additional needed for pan.
1 bag Pepperidge Farm (or your fav) cornbread stuffing mix, uncooked & halved.
    1 cup sour cream.
1 can Cream of Chicken Soup.
    1 large yellow onion, chopped.
    Salt and pepper to taste.
Directions: butter a deep baking dish. Suggested: approximately 9”x9”x4”.
Mix cooked squash in with half of the raw stuffing mix and all the other ingredients. Top the casserole mixture with the remaining half bag of raw cornbread stuffing. Bake one hour. This recipe is very forgiving, do not sweat it. 😄
Grammy made this with yellow squash and Aunt Marilynn made this with butternut squash. It’s always been a family favorite Thanksgiving side dish! I hope you like it if you try it.

  3. Hi Laura , I hope the hawk doesn’t get Cheddar or Russel. Loved how the window box turned out

  4. I'm so happy for you that the grass & trees are flourishing! The hawk… I literally dispise them. They will kill your backyard birds, pick up & kill small dogs & cats. They will also attack humans as they have done at our county library. Crazy! They've also killed 2 of my sister's chickens.😪

  5. Pull out that pear and Bonsai it! … I sorta would like to see you use some " struggling" plants and rehab them a little and eventually pop them in a bonsai pot!!

    Your hawk is hunting birds!!!

  6. I love the story about the doctor gardening with a head lamp. That’s awesome! Thanks for sharing.

  7. Its amazing how just a little change to that window box made such an impact, it looks so fresh and beautiful. Question, do your chickens try to eat the climbing rose on the coop? And is it poisonous to them if they do? I have tried growing climbing plants on my chicken coop to give them shade on the full sun side, but they eat everything i grow there. I would love to grow something that they wouldnt be tempted to eat or grow fast enough that it wouldnt destroy it if they did have a peck

  8. Are you going to plant anything in the orchard? Fruit tree guild/permaculture type plants?

  9. How fun it would be to keep a large portion of the new property wild—a wildlife habitat for Benjamin and Samantha to explore.
