I Tested Every Way to Store Parmesan Cheese

How Should You Store Parmesan Cheese?

This video took a while, but I have now finally finished the Parmesan cheese series. It’ll be another year before I finish all the cheese though. I’m so glad I bought the half wheel and not the full one. Haha

  1. After a long six months… this is the final installment of the Parmesan cheese series. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did!

  2. Have had my 1/4 peccarino Romano wheel for 2 years in Saran wrap covered again by aluminium foil on fridge's bottom shelf. Just cut a triangle every month or so. Still in great shape.

  3. No way you kept it in air tight containers, or foil, for 6 months, without it starting to mold.

  4. I was watching a video with italian audio track (youtube has a new feature or smth like that) but i forgot to turn it off and so i got to this video and it's in italian and it kinda scared me ngl

  5. So, vaccum seal it in the fridge if you want it to be whole wedges; or otherwise freeze it grated. Got it.

  6. i am italian and my parents and i always put our chunks of parmigiano in an airtight glass container, never knew it was one of the best storing methods 🤣

  7. Be careful. I got listeria from hard cheese before. Now i have 2 intenstinal disorders and pancreas damage

  8. I just freeze mine in a ziplock bag. When I need some just grate the amount you need and it goes straight back in the freezer. An Italian woman told me this years ago, and its never been a problem.
