  1. Sugar toast and maple syrup on shaved ice(freshly fallen snow when I was a kid. Don't do that now) are 2 of my favorite childhood food memories. Sometimes, simple is the best.

  2. This looks like..if French toast & toaster strudels can have a baby…⬆️ πŸ’―πŸ‘†!!! πŸ˜‚ Just more complicated. I'll stick to the classics πŸ’―πŸ™πŸ»

  3. My mom and grandmother gave me cinnamon sugar toast and tortillas. Simple and tasty… This recipe looks interesting, we'll have to try it out!

  4. I had sugar toast too. But I made it myself as a kid as an experiment. It worked.

  5. I love these crazy recipes that end up being absolutely delicious πŸ˜‹

  6. I wish your videos flowed a bit faster, you seem to drag your videos on and on and on to the point where I can hardly watch your content. Isn’t the minimum length of videos 8 or 10 minutes so you can maximize your ads which in turn = more capital for you? Bore your viewers so you can fill your pockets 😞😞😞😞

  7. Mmmm, and to make it even better, dip it in batter after it's cooked and deep fry it!

  8. Yeah, I grew up being fed cinnamon toast β€” white bread covered with margarine, sugar, and cinnamon. Toasted in the oven directly on the oven rack. It was the ultimate comfort food!

In college, the only appliances I had in my dorm room were a refrigerator and a toaster oven. Cinnamon toast was my go-to in-room "meal." Well, that and a sort of quesadilla made with tortillas covered in margarine, cheese, and Pace picante sauce. Other people on my floor would knock on my door and ask me what smelled so good. As all appliances other than refrigerators were banned, I’d have to tell them that I got fresh, hot take-out from a nearby restaurant. Nobody believed that but only my very closest friends ever had the privilege of dining on my culinary dorm-room specialties.

  9. Wonder if it would be easier to soak the bread in the cream and add the butter to the pan and get it hot to toast it.

  10. Emmy I am now officially a fan of milk toast and I haven't even tried it yet, but if it's even half as good as you've made it sound, I defo up for that lol

  11. Emmy! That was a perfect pour into that bottle. Funnel? Who need it?πŸ˜‚

  12. Emmy cuts it into 16 pieces so she could share…I’d be cutting it, with my fork, to shove in my mouth. 🀣

  13. When I was little, my mom would make us milk toast when we were sick. It was literally toast, cut up in a bowl with warmed milk. It was easy on the tummy and easy to eat.

  14. This looks fantastic!! Thank you Emmy. My Dad made us sugar bread as kids too. He buttered the bread and added a thick layer of white sugar and baked it in the oven. PERFECTION!!

  15. Haha.. this looks good! In the Netherlands, we have something similar. We call it "Wentelteefjes" (The English translations of that is "turn-around-b*tches)

  16. This reminds me of the cinnamon sugar toast my mama would make for me on Sunday morning before church and when I just had a real crappy day. She'd lather the bread with salted butter then sprinkle cinnamon and sugar on the butter and pop them in the oven for the butter to melt and the sugar to carmelise. She passed away last year suddenly from a litany of health problems that hit her all at once. I think I need to start making that toast again.

  17. we used to have something similar to the sugar toast growing up, but we would mix cinnamon into the sugar. Freaking amazing stuff😍

  18. I love Hello Fresh! I’m discovering all sorts of flavors and techniques I might not have had the chance otherwise… like two nights ago I had roasted veggies with SUMAC on them and now I know that sumac is DELIGHTFUL!

  19. Trying this recipe with half sweetened coffee creamer and half almond milk since I don't have cream/I'm low on sugar πŸ˜‚

  20. the amount of sugar in this… finally emmy's muricaness is showing
