  1. Hi DCA! I've recently put together a slim EDC pouch that fits in my back pocket for easy carry at work, and I'm looking to change out the dinky keychain knife I've got on there currently for something more high-end. Do you have any recommendations for an ultra-slim folder that could slip into one of the pouch pockets?

  2. Cheers on the Sting answer. You nailed it. If know your Warhammer 40,000 lore, Space Marines carry "combat knives" in addition to their giant bolt guns. Since your typical SM is 7" – 8" tall, what off-the-shelf model combat knife would you recommend?

  3. I wonder if, rather than physical features, the defining inflection point of the 2000s and 2010s is proliferation and variety of supersteels?

  4. I think we are seeing a game changing "moment" right now! Since more and more living space is getting urban, and knife laws are often being quite tight in many more crowded places, there are a few companies out there who are taking that possibility and who are conquering these new markets. For me it is especially one-handed opening slipjoint knives, and OTF knives that are so small, that you can legally own them because they no longer fit the OTF criteria. There are probably some other knives like that out there, but what comes to mind for each is the Böker Plus Urban Spillo Flipjoint (slipjoint flipper), and the Micro USB OTF, emphasis on micro, which will be legal to own even in Germany! We kinda got 2 legal OTFs right now, the other one is the Rescue OTF, also by Böker Plus, but that's more for work and less for the pleasures.
Looking froward for many more to come! Hell, I would even buy a non-locking OTF that could be bigger and still have a tip, if it wouldn't lock. Someone please make it!

  5. Emerson's wave feature. Come on guys. There's been no more important innovation in the past 30 years.

  6. One-handed slipjoint knives are coming recently, didn't you guys notice?
    Lets conquer that new market!

  7. Personally, I am not a folder fan as such. Fixed Blades are my weakness.
I DO carry Buck 110's and have since they became available, as well as SAK Huntsman's and have since they became available.
The advances in metallurgy, imho, are the real innovation in pocket blades. For the most part a folder is a folder is a folder and a pocket knife is meant for the pocket.

  8. No Cold Steel Voyager series? I had one of the first in 1993, in High school. Never carried it in school of course, but when you worked on a ranch or as a stock boy. It was your best friend, and under $100 dollars.

  9. Why isn't flat ground and hollow ground on the sec sheets, and when they are some times they are wrong
It will say falt ground but ends up hollow ground

  10. The compression lock? The tri-ad lock? There were some missing BIG contenders in the list I feel. Loved the video. Great info as always, keep up the great work DCA and crew!

  11. A type of blade we haven't seen yet? Wellllll… a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away….

  12. A sage Slipit from Spyderco would be cool. I like the looks of it a lot more than the weird shape of the Uk penknife. And better handle-blade ratio than the Lil´Native…although I would like to put my hands on the Lil

  13. Unpopular opinion: buck knives are junk knives that have terrible grinds and cheap ass steel that you have to over pay for because it was made in America.

  14. Tbh DCA, I'm surprised that you didn't mention anything about the kickstop flippers that are out and becoming popular these days. I personally love them and am currently awaiting the release of the Chaves Redencion 229 kickstop flipper with the compound ground tanto blade.

  15. Knife designers like to look to the past for inspiration (i.e. nessmuk, bowie, etc). What current design/makers do you think will stand the test of time and have future knife makers reaching back for design cues

  16. Benchmade 710 may have been first, but it was the Bugout that really brought the crosslock to the masses
