  1. It seems obvious to me that your favorite part of woodworking is the design part. Or is that oversimplified?

  2. The cool texture of black finished oak contrasted with warmth of the acacia is outstanding. And thank you for the explanation of what you get out of woodworking. My particular passion is cooking (and watching people who are particularly good at what the do do it.) The similarity is taking a series of tasks that are boring and monotonous and generally, as you put it, suck, and combining them to complete something that is extraordinary is where the satisfaction is derived.

  3. You could make a piece of furniture in the shape of the old videos. A half an ass chair or table. Maybe make two so that you can sit on something.

  4. I’m from Tasmania – amazing to see Tassie Blackwood being used! If you see this comment, please look at Tasmanian Huon pine. It’s one of the rarest timbers in the world and absolutely incredible to work with. It grows less than 1mm per year and only grows in very select areas of Tasmanian wilderness.

  5. Absolutely beautiful build and always enjoy the commentary and insights. Thank you!

  6. this might be just my opinion but I think that slabs are a full section of a tree (live edge on two sides) and a board is a partial section of a tree. Hope that helps!! Amazing video as always, you're camera work is noticeably improving.
