  2. A quick and easy way to clear the sides of the mortice is to use a plunge cutting blade on a multi tool, with a piece of wood clamped to the side for a guide line. It won't work on the ends without making a mess, but I find it easier than a chisel.

  3. You have an excellent instructional technique. Thanks for the info.

  4. Professionals make basic stuff look easy….I on the other hand could accomplish the same thing in under three iterations.

  5. Another no frills outstanding demonstration of how to make arguably the best wood working joint ever. Nicely done!

  6. Can you explain how and why laying the rule diagnonal on the 1 and 3 inch mark finds center and maybe do some examples on boards of different thicknesses.

  7. For what is essentially an ad you gave us some really good simple tips, Well Done

  8. You might save some money on forstners and graphgears to afford a marking gauge.

  9. Is there a way to do this with a router that might be faster to make multiple similar cuts? I ask because I’ve been trying to think how I might make cuts like this into a ~1×1 work piece that will be made into a dice box like what Wyrmwood makes

  10. Admittedly kind of obvious if you think about it, but I had never seen the "angled ruler" method for center finding. Brilliant, thank you!
