I finally found a way to make modular roads for tabletop gaming that sit flat, look good, are easy and cheap to make, and durable enough to take a bashing. Fantastic for all sorts of games like Dungeons and Dragons and Warhammer.

  1. These look great! Hope I can find a similar material in the UK. I’m thinking maybe somewhere like The Range might have something similar. Wouldn’t horse carts leave the ruts that you mentioned not to add?

  2. Brilliant! So inspiring! I'm making Christmas villages and this idea is just fantastic for that.

  3. They look amazing, only problem now is to figure out where to get this stuff in the UK

  4. Not cheap, but I better more durable material would be leather. You can carve into it, stick stuff to it, dye it, and it's heavy

  5. Awesome!

Missed an opportunity to say "This is where the rubber meets the road" though.

  6. I've needed more roads for the longest time but never found any terrain videos that I liked. All of them had the problems that you describe, curling being my most hated flaw. I saw that material at Lowes a few months ago and thought it would make decent roads. But I'm no terrain maker and had no idea how to implement it. Sir you are a genius and a hero. Thank you so much for the great content!

  7. That truly is the holy grail of modular miniature roads ????
and it is also one more thing on the list of things I cant explain to people why it makes me so excited
    ????

  8. Seems to me that you found the perfect material for a "Revolution" in tabletop terrain pieces. Brilliant, hope i can find the same type of caulking here in Italy to try it by myself

  9. Drat. I've just printed a load of modular roads after ages of agonising over the same issues as you. I eventually gave up on flexibility. Now you've got me rethinking all over again with that fab result.
