Teach them how to pour out of a box to get their cereal so you don't have to waste money on unnecessary items that will eventually be discarded.

What about a fruitbowl. Cereals aren't breakfast, they're snacks. I always prepped them sandwiches and put those in a lunchbox on the counter. Gives them a healthy start and they can get it independently.
