Having just graduated from a month without a kitchen, I am in sympathy here. I too enjoyed the glamor of doing dishes in the bathroom sink, and microwaving everything. The walls in my place are masonry, so the grit and dust was phenomenal, and so abrasive. The nightly sweep or vacuum became a drag after a month but there was no way to avoid it. And now, when I see my kitchen every morning, it's a joyful thing. I do not take my kitchen sink for granted any more. In fact, I clean it carefully every night and am delighted to see it every morning.
Seeing your video reminded me of washing dishes in the bathroom while my kitchen was being renovated! I had microwave, toaster, kettle, tea and coffee things, a few plates, bowls, cutlery and mugs lined up on the dining table and the fridge freezer beside it. It took some planning before the workmen arrived and I had to be super organised all day long – not something I feel like repeating ever again but the new kitchen has been worth it! I sympathise with you Benita.
