Merican manufacturing is dead. It costs 1/10th to manufacture it abroad and shit it in. Doesn’t make any sense to manufacture anything in the US. Same as growing oranges in the arctic. It can be done but why???

  2. @AzazelGrimshadow

You claim you make cheaper wheelchairs but it still 1000$ dollars. So tell me what exactly makes it cheaper??????? Is it just your ego that's cheaper?

  3. @Mattle_lutra

All that overly expensive equipment just to make the cheapest wheel chair? Does it make up for it by production volume or are you just having fun?
No disrespect for the cause, just curious.

I saw the chair on the roller drum! That’s awesome. But it’s supposed to have 250lbs on the seat at the time. Please publish your test results and warranty info on your website for your customers! Consumer confidence matters; especially when operating outside of FDA approval in the US. Cheers and good luck.

It’s cool you’re crowdfunded but there must be subsidies in the US for companies like this. healthcare businesses are eligible for so much money through government funds and grants. And then there’s just open manufacturing grant programs to help pay for all the expensive equipment and machinery. Depending upon your total operating budget (whether you’re a small business or not) and setup (if you’re entrepreneurs) there are so many programs that are open to anyone. Look into grants and funding! You can hire someone to write the proposals if you’re not good at it.

What this dude is doing is good, but the sad thing is that people that need them have to buy them to begin with..

There are so many wheel chairs, and all medical devices, that just get thrown away every year.
    .
I used to work in a nursing home, when somebody died and the family didn't want the chair, or the walker, or rollator, it just went in a room in the basement, and they would throw them out every year or so.. They would get a 20 yard dumpster.. They filled it up one time with just walkers, they were all aluminum, they let me have them all, and then they didn't have to get a second dumpster for all the wheel chairs..

My mom found a place in Westfield MA, run by the Masonic lodge I think it was.. I think it was just called HELP.. Free medical stuff, they just ask that you bring it back when you are done, the only thing they require ID for is electric wheel chairs.. They had tons of wheel chairs, crutches, bed rails, walkers, cushions, beds, all free, all donated. Somebody was even bringing in one of those little scooters you use when you break your ankle when we were there. There needs to be more places like that.

The expense in automation comes up front. Once it's running, and your programming is robust/processes are ironed out, things get a lot easier and the cost starts to come back….as long as the machines aren't too expensive to maintain/repair.

I have a wheelchair factory, which makes the most uncomfortable wheelchair in the whole World.
