salted sticky date protein oats (w. egg whites) recipe

1/2 cup rolled oats
2/3 cup water
1/2 cup almond milk
Salt
Vanilla (optional)
cinnamon
1 tbsp chia seeds
1 tbsp hemp hearts (optional)
1-2 chopped dates
1/3 – 1/2 cup egg whites

maple syrup or protein powder to add sweetness

1. Bring oats, water & milk to a boil, then simmer for 5-6 min, mixing occasionally
2. Mix in chia seeds, hemp hearts, dates and simmer for 2-3 more mins
3. Once thick add egg whites and mix thoroughly until desired texture
4. Add maple syrup or flavoured protein powder if you want it sweeter!!
5. Top with pb and salt and choc chips and whatever your heart desires

  1. Oatmeal is actually one of my safe foods right now! I love it with cinnamon and apple, i eat it basically every meal

  3. Is there a proper method to consume chia seeds? Should we soak them in water or milk first or just blending or cooking like this is good enough?
