Nethercutt’s 1930 Cadillac V-16 | Jay Leno’s Garage

  1. To cool. It’s always great to see the best of the best from all eras. Thanks Jay.

  2. Funny how at 9:52, while discussing how easy it is to diagnose a mechanical problem versus a modern day electronic problem, Jay mentions the oil pump as a good example of a mechanical failure "he" can easily spot, but then mistakenly describes the operation of the mechanical fuel pump.

  3. I greatly appreciate the fact that after Jay had that electric nightmare of a "Cadillac" on this redeems him hugely. This is a Cadillac and this is what they should be building on this level. Not everyone should be driving a Cadillac. Throughout Caddys history, there have been a mistake here and there (see Cimmaron) but never an entire two decades of unwanted rebadged Tahoes and Impalas.

  4. Fantastic! I've seen this car at the Nethercutt, but didn't see the engine and certainly didn't see it run. Thanks to the Nethercutt and Jay for bringing it by and letting it roam under its own power.

  5. Another big highpoint in Cadillac history was when a Series 61 Cadillac coupe came in 10th place in the 1950 Le Mans. Quite a feat for an American car.

  6. The profile shows a bit of a hotrod rake, is that factory? It would look better with the running boards parallel to the ground. Other than that, what a heckuva a car!

  7. If I win the lottery multiple times over, I'd love one of them, absolutely stunning.

  8. I'm such a big fan of Nethercutt … absolutely agree w/Jay … if you're ever in So. Cal., you OWE it to yourself to take their tour.

  9. Jay, every so often I get a reply to a comment I've made here; something from what appears to be your official telegram(?) channel saying I've been shortlisted for something. Is that you or…

  10. Sold, The check is in the Mail. I wish. 4 Mill ? Thanks for the show, enjoyed .Been a Caddy fan for decades.

  11. A buddy of my uncle's had a '34 phaeton unrestored, that originally belonged to a DuPont heiress. He bought it in 1960 and drove it from Delaware to Salem, VA. Said he averaged 4 mph. It got bought by some multimillionaire and sent for a frame off restoration.

  12. 17:55 – Jay said 1930 you're only 30 years on from horse and wagon, but my grandad's farming family were still going to town and church in the wagon in the 1920's. I thunk he said they got their first car- model t – in the early 30's. What's crazy, by 1958, my grandad was driving a 58 Oldsmobile with factory a/c!!!!! Imagine the amount of advancement that was for him, both in technology and financial ability to buy such a car. Poor dirt farming kid to driving an oldsmobile 20 years later.

  13. That's the only great thing in California is the cars and u because u r a awesome car guy.

  14. Gorgeous! One of the most beautiful cars I’ve ever seen. Thank you Netthercut collection, keep bringing these beautiful cars to Jay for review. This is why I watch a lot of channels on YouTube, but Jay Leno’s Garage is still my favorite!
