Using baseboard caps is an excellent idea. The router work is creative. The completed project adds the touch of old-style craftsmanship.
Stumpy nubs woodworking youtube channel has a video on sharpening forstner bits with a file. It will save you money if you can resharpen them. It doesn't take long.
