  1. Have not seen it Irl yet but I if I would buy a rolex and concidering a explorer I would go for the Air-King instead. In a heartbeat 🙂

  2. You love it; I adore it. Just make the damn thing gettable !
So frustrating. Come on Rolex; up your game.

  3. the first thing I actually thought was the bracelet is too wide. 21mm on 40mm doesn't work (if you ask me) and I noticed it. I do like the other new Rolex releases this year. The real sweet spot for watch sizes seems to be 40mm – 42mm today. I know a guy who wears a 30mm Rolex on a leather strap and it looks good. I wear myself watches from 37mm – 48mm and this seems fine. If you can rock it, stock it.

  4. Saw the 1016, loved it bought it. Every explorer after that inferior in my eyes. Haven't seen another Rolex I'd want, saved shed loads of cash I suppose.

  5. Still my dream watch. I was able to obtain an Explorer II (black dial) but was never able to obtain an Explorer… Still looking forward to purchasing it!

  6. Are watches like Dogs ? In that's some dog owners look like their dogs – are some watch owners a bit like their watches.

  7. Brilliant review, brilliant watch, just brilliant! Now I’m going to have to get one from my friendly AD in Gibraltar! Haven’t figured out how to approach the subject with my wife yet but a wise person once told me “Easier to ask for forgiveness than permission!” ????

  8. Great vid. I’m trying to get on the waitlist tomorrow at my AD. God knows how long that will take!

  9. I think a watch says something about the wearer in the same way their shoes and other parts of their attire do. There is entire research on the subject how different types of clothes make people feel differently. I think the same applies to jewellery and watches. From understated to flamboyant, pretentious to tasteful there is everything out there. The watch, the shoes, the coat, everything is chosen consciously or subconsciously. So you can have watches in your collection that are all understated – or indeed a mix. Depending on how you want to feel, you choose your watch.

  10. Post-2006 all wrist watch brands became Bling, Rolex in the first place with adding an engraved rehaut ????
To be truly elegant, a subtle but functional wrist watch is a sign of class, style & sophistication as a 36mm Explorer was worn by Ian Fleming & Sir David Attenborough… but Bling fashion fades !

  11. I know an Explorer in 37, 38, or 41mm would have been the perfect size! Anyone who disagrees does not know about about Galileo's Quad-Tri proportions. Everyone missed this one!!

  12. Dangerous video for me (who sold his watched 2 years ago to go Apple Watch all in)… Buy one never can be sure.. Love the explorer. An the 40 is near to perfect !!

  13. People don’t ‘just like bigger watches’. They fit their wrist better.
Same way skinny wristed guys want a 36mm.
If they had a bigger (average or above) wrist, they would want the 39/40mm, and vice versa ????

  14. I just love my 39mm grail version, its perfect size, matt dial and the fact that it is discontinued 😉 Although classic but not necessarily boring in its aesthetics, the Explorer 1 is directly recognizable for collectors and simply perfect in its execution. Whatever the diameter of this timepiece, 36, 39 or 40mm, the Explorer 1 is a cult watch ????

  15. Great video. Love the new EX40.
Where do you get your statistics about ‘most Rolex owners being C0cks’?
Can an Explorer owner be a C0ck too?
Surely a watch should not decide if someone is a C0ck?
That perspective is just to make haters happy and give some odd justification to YouTubers that want to own Rolex but still be able to ‘Bash 4 Cash™️’.

  16. The Explorer 39 (MK2) will be a future classic! It wears lovely on the wrist and the matte dial and the Explorer font at the bottom make ist very unique. The new Explorer 40 looks great though!

  17. 21mm lug width is fantastic. Works with so many watches where 20 or 22mm would (and does) look awful.
Pelagos 39 is a good example of that.
    New BB39 looks great too.

  18. First time my wife has ever watched one of your videos Adrian. She was all in when you said “bulbous head”. Can’t think why!!!!!
