Pro Chef Turns Canned Seafood Into 4 Meals For Under $12 | The Smart Cook | Epicurious
Love the dry humor and just a joy to watch and very clear and easy to understand what he is saying and doing in the kitchen.
Arguably shallots in 1st recipe may be replaced with onion to make it even cheaper
The worst thing one could do to a salad is using too small a bowl, what a mess of nightmare
Can you use canned Mackerel in place of salmon in 1st recipe?
Wild Planet is such an amazing brand. I tried to go back to regular cans of tuna a few years ago and couldn’t. Only downside is it’s 3-4x more expensive as the usual brand people would get. But it’s 100% worth it!
Me at the grocery store : Can I have twenty-eight cents of Parm… Grocer : Well yes if you buy this twenty-eight dollar wedge of Parm.
Oh, it’s an apron
I thought he had weird pants
Dude likes a rustic cut
If you're really tired: put your rice cooker on and when the rice is done, open up a can of tuna or sardines and mix them in.
Love sockeye salmon , add it to cold pasta salads ,but I plan to try your recipes thank you for sharing.
Love this Dan! Can you find sardines without the bone?
Thank you … Great presentation
sexy sardines
This is the best
chef of the proletariat
I cannot take him serious after him saying he doesn’t like the sound of a sear in the first 10 seconds
Green mango salad canned tuna in a bag of salt and vinegar chips. No I said IN
Everybody's like …oh Dan, look at you, you michelin star chef, keeping it simple. Do you even know chefs??? This is how they eat daily, on their own. They ain't cooking for themselves, they're exhausted. I loved hanging out with chefs cause they would always turn the simplest things into the most delicious things. Simple is knowledge! Doesn't mean it was easy to get there, though…lol
I love these dish ideas. They are not necessarily affordable where I live, a can of salmon is about $9 but great ideas to try. As frozen salmon is about $15 per 3oz so saving nonetheless.
Do you think tuna would still taste good as a substitute for a salmon in the frittata? ????
Dan juicy more like John crunchy
I’ve been watching Dan for several months now, great teaching style. Everything he makes is well worth having at home. I have all these canned foods in the cabinets , with delicious options, excited.
He’s sexy.
He is good!
u kept potato peel you actually know how to cook, most important part to eat.
I love looking at historical records and seeing how low prices were back then, like how land in the 1800s was a few cents per acre, or how 4 eggs in 2022 were 80 cents…
I made all of these last summer, and now, when I'm trying to fit more protein into my diet, the sardine salad is what comes to mind. Fish and chickpeas are great protein sources and I remember the dressing was rather tasty!
