Remove Yellow Sweat Stains

Removing old yellow sweat stains is easier than you may think! I’m a 4th generation dry cleaner and here are the two most important steps:

1) Remove the cause of the stain, the body oil / sebum, with a bit of dish soap or an all purpose stain remover, let that sit, and wash as recommended.
2) Remove the yellow color of the stain by using oxygen bleach. You can either spray on hydrogen peroxide or soak in powdered oxygen bleach and hot water.

Note – If you soak in hot water and powdered oxygen bleach, make sure you give it another way. If you spray with HP, make sure you dry inside and in the shade (oxygen bleach hates UV).

Oxygen bleach is very different from chlorine bleach and takes a long time to work. Take a look the next day and be amazed with the results. Oxygen bleach is also known as color safe bleach.

I hope this helps!

  3. Can you please do a video on how best to remove silicone & latex-based house paint from cotton blend material? I was doing some house painting, stupidly wearing a hoodie (one of my good ones too!) when I bent over to paint the other side of a railing and just absolutely covered the whole front right side of it in the wet paint that was on the railing. Help! 😅

  4. Your tips have helped me SO much!! I’ve also switched from laundry sheets for washing clothes to Tide Pods and there’s been such a difference is performance…I also love that they wash just as well in cold water. ♥️

  14. Will peroxide not bleach /affect the coloured parts? Like the pink straps here? I always thought you only put it on whites, but It doesn’t seem like there was much care here to avoid pink parts?

  15. I do it faster. I spray Easy Off oven cleaner under arms of the shirt. Leave it for 30 min then wash it in the laundry

  16. Oh my gosh! Yes! I thrifted a “beige” shirt with some little spots, so I threw it with some oxyclean… turns out the shirt was white! I don’t know what magic that is but I believe it. lol
