ROASTING MY OLD DESIGNS VS. HOW I DESIGN NOW

We are gently roasting my designs from a few years ago and comparing it to how I design now! I was honestly shocked at how similar these rooms looked and you can definitely see a pattern in what I like to put in a room. I hope you found this helpful and entertaining. 1. I’ve been watching u for years I had to laugh at a couple of items that I bought and I’ve changed them too .. your an amazing designer ..I’ve always been kinda good at it one thing I love is what u said about large art .. I am going look at your carpet collection they look beautiful

  2. Rugs USA?? Come on Arvin. Poor quality and you know you would not choose a rug for your home from there. You are a trend follower.

  3. Love when you do a roast video but to do it on your past self is hilarious???????? I've never the dog you had in your bedroom pics. Was that another dog you had?

  4. Agree with the art in your new living space. It’s random. But I really like the table and floor lamp.

  5. Love to see growth and the elimination of “rabbit ear” pillows????????. I cringe every time someone does that to perfectly made pillows.

  6. I love this video. I love them all, actually. This video concept is great because you’re growing and maturing as a designer, and so are all of us amateurs that look up to you for inspiration. You are are so elegant yet unpretentious.
Do you know that feeling when you watch Jeopardy and get a few questions right? That’s how I feel when I guess what you’re about to say! Lol, I’m no Arvin, but I get it right sometimes. ❤❤❤

  7. I want those candle stick on your old book shelf…where'd you get them ????!?

  8. And where are your things? Books? Tableware? Silverware? I forgot. You're an American. You don't read books, you eat off paper plates with your hands.

  9. Here’s my take :

    1) Old living room vs new living room. Biggest difference is the camera angle. The old living room was shot at a higher/steeper angle vs the new living room. When it’s too high … the perspective changes….which I find a lot less flattering. The new living room looks more curated and stylish (more expensive) vs the old living room decor which I find quite pedestrian.

    2) 2nd comparison – office shelving shot. Both colour palates remain very similar and pleasing. The biggest difference imho is the shelving unit itself. Also…the new unit’s “wider” sections and of different widths if you will … is a lot more desirable than the old’s “narrower” sections. If one has those narrower types …I’m afraid it will almost always have that “store” look.

What makes your present style look a lot better in my opinion is also due to the space (your lovely new home). It’s airy, expansive with lots of huge windows. That makes a huge difference no matter what design style one has. Without them windows…any space will probably have a boxy feel no matter how skilful one is.

I also definitely notice a higher level of sophistication and refinement!

Your personality remains the biggest reason why I love your channel ????????????

  10. Those trending elephant leg tables are the future Joanna Gaines farmhouse clocks…????????????

  11. Hey Arvin, that green top you’re wearing looks stunning on you. I’d like to see you incorporate some more saturated colors like that into your interior designs. Your evolution is fun to watch. ????

  12. Living room now looks like a lobby in the ritz or st regis, the old living room looks like something in my house if we had it in order lol

  13. There's nothing wrong with change! We all evolve, I hope ???? I use to love color in design, not so much now.

  14. Re: your design books. I would love a video on your favs and why you like them.

  15. This is gold, good to be able to have a laugh at yourself but your style and design has evolved ????. Love your new office design. Looking forward to seeing your designs throughout this home.

  16. I'm loving seeing your continuing evolution ???????? Yes, roast our spaces????
