Were they just fuse welding that pipe with no filler I'd really like to know

That’s cool. I’ve gotten to work on a lot of different aircraft and in this case, more specifically, the bleed air plumbing. A lot of the sections that come right off the gas turbine compressor section have welds like these on the tubes. They look seamless in their transition. It’s an art form. I wish I could learn how to do it.

I’ve told people this for many many years….90% of pipe welding is body mechanics and getting comfortable. If you don’t have a steady hand naturally it’s gonna be a struggle.

No way would that get through a visual here in the UK, that root wasnt just discoloured (failure) it was Coked 😄😄😄
