In this highly anticipated second part of my kitchen makeover series, I take on the challenge of reorienting my kitchen space with my contractors and finding the perfect countertops to complement my design aesthetic. I’ve learned throughout this process that weighing the pros and cons of various options, and ultimately making big decisions is way harder than I thought when it comes to a kitchen.

But the journey towards a dream kitchen is not without its bumps in the road. In this video, I also open up about my growing sense of regret about undertaking this makeover project. From unexpected expenses to unforeseen complications.

  1. My family currently struggles with maintaining the white marble as it stains so easily that even a little brown makes the white look dirty.

My vote is for the quartzite

  2. Ok, well, this theme hit me painfully.
I’ve been renovating my apartment and when almost every huge work was done, kitchen countertop decided to sabotage me and cracked.
It just cracked for unknown reason and no one wants to take responsibility now. I did not live there, obviously, because the work was in progress and no one used the kitchen and countertop… and yet it broke.
Both seller and manufacturer evade the responsibility and refuse to refund, while I am left with cracked countertop. They insist that contractors stepped onto countertop (and enjoyed themselves dancing wildly over there, I guess). I think this is most likely not the case, because there was thick layer of dust sitting on countertop when I came in to clean the kitchen. I discovered the crack only when I wiped the countertop clean. Unfortunately I cannot verify my words, there is no confirmation of the fact, and there is no way I could prove that countertop broke because it probably was defective from the beginning.

I braced myself to re-order the countertop and pray it will come flawless. It’ll be a loss of money, but I can’t live with cracked countertop, it is not good for household appliances and it is not safe for me either.

  3. I'm team quartzite!! If I have the option to have something beautiful AND practical, I always choose practicality haha

like sure the marble might be prettier but unless you really put the work on the maintenance, it won't be the prettier option in the long-run

  4. I would pick the bianca quartzite. Just because i know how brittle marble is and i would be waaaaay to lazy to always re-do it????
And something about the bianca color is more suitable for me

  5. Verdeeee ???? also, you and your color choices ???? but the result is great, I almost believe it’s not black irl !
