If they were never in the lease, they don’t have to pay legally, they’re just preying on the family
I saw the court case of this and I thought it was fake cus it was so stupid. The guy was saying 'oh the daughter doesnt even need to pay it, it just comes out of the estate and Im going to be at the loss of a good tenant' like…. no that estate belongs to the daughter, so it isnt just magic money from no where… he was an idiot and still didnt understand why the judge threw the case out.

Why can't people just be good?
It should just be illegal to make someone pay for housing when they leave early or get kicked out. It's literally highway robbery. You might lose a couple of months rent but that's nothing in comparison to expecting someone to pay 2 years of rent bc they couldn't fulfill the entirety of the lease. Homeowners can get home equity to temporarily cover that cost or sell for a higher value than it was even worth. Renters cannot.
Greed is one of the seven deadly sins I guess landlords didn't get that memo.
This is why our country will face the judgment that Sodom and Gomorrah faced in one day we will be wiped out and it's because of stuff like this😢😢😢
