The fireplace definitely looks better painted white. I think the medallion would have looked better black than white. More character and contrast.
The last picture you hung needs to go down and to it's left. Looks out of place where it is.

You always make everything look so simple and lovely…I love how you up-cycled the frames. Oh, if you decide to distress the fireplace surround, I thing sanding it back to a warm wood color instead of fake distressing the edges black would look nice. Also, the rub and buff would look great on those little bird jar lids since they look too shiny and new in silver…
