    This is probably one of the most important things to be able to do. To be able to fill out so much space by yourself is great when you’re the only instrumentalist at a gig or playing by yourself in general. Plus it’s a good writing tool, the problem, is that it’s hard. Learning the chords wasn’t that hard, but learning where to put them was, but it’s like your 3rd eye opening once you get it

    I’m trying to learn the major and minor triads first. These chords are just major triads that change up a little, right? If you have a basic understanding of intervals and how chords are made from intervals.

    That’s still basic because you’re only adding one chord on each part of the melody
    Try adding things in between and counterpoint bass voices and some unexpected and unique things to make it your own
