  2. No, i think its not crushed ice to glue them together, i think it's salt, look it up, salt on ice effects

  3. The lakes freeze over, not solid. Any fish would be dead. Lakes do what’s called turnover. At 39 degrees F . The warmer water sinks and the colder goes to the top. Did you notice the water underneath the ice?
