  1. my mother never made a banana pudding in her life, but my grandmother made it from scratch. in fact, its the only thing i ever saw her cook. when we went to visit her, she & i would make it together. we followed the recipe on the side of the nilla wafers box. we would cook the custard slowly on the stove top, but then she taught me to fold the meringue into the custard. it made the pudding soooo light & fluffy. we would layer the custard, cookies & bananas twice into what was officially known as the banana pudding bowl, then put it into the fridge. we had to wait until the next day for the cookies to get soft. longest 24 hours of my life. i've never eaten it hot & never the same day. when i first saw nanner pudding with meringue on top, i thought it was crazy. i still prefer it the way i was taught.

  2. Tammy! I made it! Omg! I've never had banana pudding. My hubby LOVED LOVED LOVED IT!!! Thank You for giving me the perfect recipe for Father's Day treat!
*If you're reading this & thinking about making this… DO IT! Easy & yummy! My bananas weren't even ripe all the way. I sliced extremely thin and sprinkled sugar and sqeezed enough lemon juice to go around the plate once. I tossed them & let them sit while making the rest of the dish. So good & I'm excited for cold bites tomorrow.

  3. I love banana pudding too.. I don’t need meringue or whipped topping on mine. I actually prefer with either. And unless I know it will all be eaten in one meal I don’t put bananas in it until we’re actually eating it. I don’t like the dark bananas. I think I’ll make it for my next cookout. There will be enough people here to eat it all.. This looks delicious Tammy. I hope your leg gets better soon. ❤

  4. Hi Tammy and Chris. That looks heavenly. I’m making this soon. Tammy be careful I stepped off a low step and chipped my ankle when younger. I love easy peasy. Happy belated Father’s Day Chris! Love ya all and this video ❤❤

  5. ❤You are a great cook so many of your recipes remind me of growing up at home. My Mom used to cook everything from scratch , as a little boy l used to sit and watch her cook because I was always ready to eat. I learned and still remember all those different aromas in the kitchen it was heavenly. In that process I've learned to be a very good cook as a grown man. I am so thankful because that allows you not to have to rely on anyone to cook for you. So many of my friends have to wait on there wives to get home from work, me I know how to get in there and get the pots and pans shake rattle and rolling.???????????? GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY. I'M SO GLAD YOU GUYS GOT A CHANCE TO MOVE CLOSER TO THEM.????

  6. Thank you for sharing Tammy and Chris have a blessed day stay safe and healthy. Happy Father's Day Chris ❤❤ yummy on the banana pudding Mmmm. ????????????????❤????❤????

  7. Your recipes are like a breath of fresh air. You've taken classic dishes and given them a creative twist.

  8. My Family he'd 10 kids my mom was always in the kitchen but I don't remember her desserts only cake or store bought cookies or ice cream.. Can't wait to make this for my husband. Thank you peggy

  9. My Dad's from Alabama and he taught me to make it. Everyone in our family makes it and love it. I made it in the microwave like you showed us for the first time last year and I'll never do cook top again lol.❤

  10. I will try this one day. You sure make it look delicious!
Please pray for my neighborhood to get our power back on. Its been out almost 24 hours & the fellas stopped working on it. Many people losing precious food in warm fridges. ???? Tomorrow is going to be hot too. I'd drive us somewhere, but my car acted up Sat. & I had to pray it home! ????

  11. This really takes me back❣️ ???? My Mom made her Banana Puddin' once a month. She didn't use a mixer for anything and we didn't get our first Microwave until the early 80s so my Mom would stand over her pot, slowly stirring the ingredients for the Pudding. What I really remember is the meringue. She would use this one Special platter and a fork. She would whip the Egg Whites while I would carefully sprinkle the sugar in until it "peaked". Boy, what our Parents did to make our childhood special

  12. Mom always makes banana pudding but without the meringue with cookies on bottom and then several layers cookie and banana with cookies lining the outside as you layer in a glass dish ending with pudding on top yummy
