When it comes to the pushup, there is a huge improvement that can be made that will benefit your body. Rather than lowering your body partially to the ground or guess at how low you should be going for proper form, allow yourself to go all the way down – chest to floor. From here, lift the hands off the ground and perform the hand release pushup. This will immediately engage the muscles of the rotator cuff, on the back side of the shoulder, which are areas that tend to get overlooked which lead to shoulder discomfort and postural problems over time.
Doing your push-ups like this will likely lead to fewer total pushups performed but the positive benefits you get from doing them as well as the muscular balance are worth the trade off.

No no no no no… dont encourage this… the army switched to hand release pushups and they are so much harder to max out now and these are straight up a burnout on your shoulders.. this kinda talking makes the army think they did a good thing lol im just kidding i guess im glad to see im actually getting benefit out of this painful variation that is harder for me to maxout i can do it on a good day but just barely whereas regular pushups before i could go well over the max oh well
What do you do if you have 2 large tendon tears in your right shoulder and one of them being Supraspinatus?

lol Air Force pushups
Actually, when doing a pushup, your momentum actually makes the pushing up harder, not easier.
Your change in momentum will be greater compared to if you were at rest since you have momentum downwards, so it requires a greater force to actually push you up.
The actual reason why it is harder if you stop at the bottom is that when you immediately push up after reaching the bottom, your muscles and tendons store elastic energy in them like a spring. This allows you to effectively "bounce up" from the bottom of your push up.
Taking your hands off gets rid of this elastic energy stored in your muscles, making the push up harder.
Necktattoo calisthenics guy is angry 😂
This is actually how I’m working my way to a full push up. Go all the way to the ground, hands up, hands back down, knee push up back up. I’m up to 10.
💪🏽🔥
Push-ups are killing your gains though
