1/4 teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes (or more, to taste)
Small handful fresh Basil chopped finely
Kosher Salt and freshly Ground Black Pepper (to taste)

  7. This is delicious and filling, and quick and easy, but really it's just mac-and-cheese made in a skillet. I've done it, without the chicken, and without any meat at all, in times of poverty. I agree completely with this style of cooking but you can do better with these ingredients. C'mon, AB, show us something elegant with those chicken breasts after you brown them in the cast-iron skillet. There are so many possibilities after you get that crust on them (they look so good!). Why, you coulda used some of that stock or wine to deglaze the pan… No criticism of the idea itself intended!
