The first Rolex Cosmograph Daytona to showcase its horsepower – Watches & Wonders 2023

Rolex has finally revealed their new releases for Watches & Wonders 2023, and the Daytona is certainly among the most anticipated. Without further ado, let’s get right into the new features and the five new models that mark the model’s 60th anniversary – including the new calibre 4131 and a FIRST-EVER exhibition caseback!

The biggest new upgrade to the Daytona line-up is the new Calibre 4131, and the fact that it will now be visible through a sapphire caseback on the platinum Daytona. The automatic column wheel chronograph is equipped with a Parachrom hairspring, Paraflex shock absorbers and features a 72-hour power reserve. It’s also well-decorated, a departure from the usual industrial decoration Rolex goes for.

  1. I actually think the steel ring around the ceramic ruins the ‘float’ of the bezel and that the case back doesn’t suit the sports vibe of the watch. All a bit Tudor tbh. Let the hype begin though!

  2. God I’m gonna watch this a million times. I was sad I missed out on the 50th with the leaks. That caseback and the smaller subdials just convinced me this is THE grail for me. Begging and ready to liquidate for this heavy hitter.

  3. I like the finishing, but I'd rather a platinum caseback.

Not that it matters, as I'm not actually into the Daytona. Maybe I'd flip one to buy more interesting watches for keeping.

  4. Travis tuggie I.e Anthony farer / time piece gentleman claimed this would have been a 500k watch because they would discontinue it in a year. 3 years ago. What a fluffer

  5. So did they make this a real "40mm" or still 40mm on paper but 38mm in actual? I hope it is still smaller in actual size.

  6. Daytona is still a showpiece. A useless chrono if you want to use of for an everyday active lifestyle.

  7. I used to clown rolex for not having a display caseback.. ok, rolex, I'll shut up about it lol. They need all models to have display case backs tho. But good job

  8. 0:15 "Really the only changes…are case refinements". How do you call yourself a professional reviewer and you ignore the new movement? smgdh

  9. Not a fan of the thin ring bezel, will be a scratch and ding magnet. Full ceramic was better and impossible to scratch

  10. Not many watch enthusiasts will admit that Daytona open case is not such a good idea. Why? Two reasons. 1) Rolex movements in general do not look so impressive to show especially when compared to noble competitors that specialize in those
    2) Rolex trade mark was always not to follow but to lead. In this case they just started doing sth the others do.
