  9. Machine screw into wood is a red flag..and it is a phillips. We are all doomed.

  10. did that with matches on a couple cheap cabinet doors. still holding. although match-wood is likely softer than bambu or toothpicks 😀

  14. This is fine if all you need is a quick hack,
    But a hack is all it it and you are.
    The proper repair is you drill it out and glue in a dowel, then drill a pilot hole for the screw. Good practice if the screw needs to be repositioned a small amount, and the old hole is too close to just leave there.

  19. Yep, I learned that trick a while ago I always keep toothpicks with me

  20. I do enjoy a bit of screwing around but stripping is so annoying it just delays the screwing process. For me I prefer I unstripped screwing tbh.

  23. I can't tell you how many times I've seen door frames split after 30 years of successive owners sticking toothpicks into the hinge screw holes.
