This is so upsetting bc maple syrup is so expensive, at least where i live
Commenting before watching but the note from the recipe creator being that it should be served with cheddar cheese is… concerning to say the least
I'm quite sure people will get diabetes type 2 after this one lmao
I was waiting for the flour to come in, but there was none and I knew this would turn out awful 👎👎😂!
It’s like they were trying to make a treacle tart, but got it SO WRONG 🤣
Probably the thing that upsets me the most about this is that we do have maple syrup pies here in Canada (but they’re mainly called sugar pies here). But the recipe writer horribly butchered it. You’re supposed to add a thickening agent, like flour or corn starch or heavy cream! What kind of a monster only uses liquids??? This isn’t a Great Depression water pie!
Edit: my country hasn’t been disgraced by America like this since the pig war of 1859.
you know it’s bad when we’re less than one month into 2025 and this thing is already dubbed the disaster of the year
could use some clear jel
This is essentially a sweet quiche, it is also an abomination
Add nuts, gelatin and/or flour, substance….
… no. Just no. Don't like that at all.
The entire country of Canada would hate this.
I can feel my cheeks starting to pucker through the phone. Entirely too sweet looking!
I refuse to believe Canadians would intentionally make something awful
Maple syrup that uses ounces (instead of mL) to measure. 💀
Oh, it's gelatinous.
Idk our stores here in Quebec haven’t fully recovered since the great maple syrup heist when those guys stole $18.7 million worth of maple syrup from a storage facility.
I am so uncomfortable right now and it's just a pie…
Less syrup, a couple more eggs, and a little more cornstarch would be an improvement. I’m reserving my thoughts on the brown sugar but would probably reduce or eliminate that too. Also, my family likes homemade custard so I can see some potential in the IDEA but admit that it looks like horrid execution/recipe
