The Gut-Boosting Secret Hiding in Mushroom Stems! 🍄🔥

Think mushrooms are just a tasty topping? Think again!

Even the basic white button mushroom is loaded with beta-glucan, a powerful fiber that:

Feeds your gut bacteria

Lowers inflammation

Boosts your immune system

And here’s the twist:

That stem you’ve been tossing out?

It’s called the stipe, and it has TWICE as much beta-glucan as the cap!

So next time you cook mushrooms…
EAT THE STEMS! Your gut will thank you!

  1. Credit to Dr William Li. Get his book "Eat To Beat Disease" from the tagged products 🤗 it's an absolute gem 💎

  2. I remember my father telling me as a young girl, when I was cooking, "don't forget to chop those stems and add them in too".

  3. Fibre is not classed as an essential nutrient. And by definition it means undigestable. Why would you eat something the body cant digest?! Madness

  4. As an autoimmune lipedema sufferer I make a special anti inflammatory soup with mushroom celery spring onion and dill and of course olive oil and lemon. The mushroom is used with the stipe whole.😅 Greetings from Athens Greece!

  5. The whole thing is a mushroom. Throwing away the stem is like only drinking the milk in a bowl of cereal.

  6. Well it has to go up the stem to get to the cap so obviously the stem is going to have more in it so why on earth would you throw it away.

  7. I don’t know anyone who throws the stems away. It all gets chopped up and cooked together, it all tastes the same. What a waste of food to just chuck half of them away,

  8. Always be wary of anyone giving you nutritional advice that tells you to eat mushrooms. For those of you unaware, look up the mushroom mafia

  9. Anyone else curious about the negative effects of Portobello mushrooms? Has anyone watched an interview with a mushroom and fungi expert that stated he couldn't speak on the negative effects of Portobellos bc it put his life in danger🤷🏼‍♂️🤣

  10. But portobellos needs to be cooked all the way through I heard this expert says it could be dangerous.

  11. I love mushrooms raw. I wonder if it’s better to eat the raw in a salad, than it is to eat them cooked?

  12. I have always eaten the full mushroom. My mother used to take she skin off the cap, but I've never personally done that
