This is one of those things that seems natural to an untrained amateur like me. Years ago my rool kit waa very limited, my only saw was a miter saw, which was basically a crappy version of a dovetail saw. Being untrained, i didnt know you weren't supposed to cut this way, and i had somw 2×4's that i needed to cut for a project…so i just went for it and it worked fine for the roguh bench i was making.
There have been quite a few situations where not knowing that i wasnt supposed to do a thing led me to discover i could totally do a thing.
Bro running out of ideas ๐
If you ever feel useless think of the benchhooks in this video.
You do not have to " think a little differently", you just have to think for like a moment ffs. The fact so many people are in awe of this "advice" makes me really think our species is devolving.
You can also use a Japanese saw.
This reminds me of when every shape fits in the square hole..
And what if its a 50 by 50 cube
I honestly have been using metal working hacksaws for years.
Important side note make sure you use the nice sharp saw for this not the old rusty one or you'll be taking all day to cut it
If only sowmoen could invent a round blade with saw teeth on it, then atrach that blade to an electric motor……….๐๐ฉ๐๐ฉ
Of course, you could do it with a Japanese Ryoba saw. Heresy, I know.
Good advice, needs more planing stop
This isnโt common sense?
This is actually good advice! You could use a japanese saw too.
Hey Rex I have a question I was watching one of your old videos about making a smoothing plane and I was wondering if you experienced any tear out with it because you didnโt have a cap iron. I want to make a pretty much identical plane as yours and Iโm just curious if I need a cap iron
Rex, you better stick to sweeping the floor, nerd!
Rex has a doctorate degree in dumbassology
Is it bad that a circle is straighter than my cuts
Or you could just walk over to the miter saw, turn it on and ten seconds later, job done.
Anyone got any tips for setting up a plane
Anything on sharpening would also be appreciated
This guy is mentally impaired my 10-year-old could work this out
Amazing Rex, LOL!
lessons in topology.
Good adhice but i would rather just use a japanese saw
carpenter discovers 3 dimentions
Amazing advice
