Might be one of the best cakes in the world. Or is it technically a pudding?

  1. "really easy to make" uses ingredients like lyle's shit, vanilla bean paste, brown sugar, dates and has million steps
    thanks josh

  2. In the spirit of trying to make cakes, what you dislike you should try cassava cake

  3. Joshua, what happened to your hand man? Are you okay? Seems like oil splash to me. Wishing you good health.

  4. If you're feeling fancy you can always add a splash of something like whisky or brandy to the sauce to give it an extra je ne sais quoi. I also sometimes mix it up by adding different extra dried fruit to the pudding mix (apricots or prunes are my faves), or chopped nuts can work really well (walnuts, or pecan nuts are the best imo), or even something like cocoa nibs.
I'd also recommend adding a tiny bit of espresso powder in there, especially if you use golden syrup instead of treacle (I would heavily recommend using treacle though).

Edit: you should 100% add treacle to the pudding mix as well, not just in the sauce.

  5. Watching this brings back memories of school lunch. In a very good way. Thank you

  6. Its so weird to hear this called Toffee pudding and not Date pudding, i only just learned that its an Australian thing

  7. I make this and eat this as a course before my savoury food….as Garfield once said…Life is Uncertain…Eat Dessert First. A credo I live by. Thanks for this recipe from Australia
