The "Spacerail" is a slick sliding bike storage rack! – Sea Otter Expo 2023

I stopped by the Stashed Bike Storage booth at Sea Otter and was amazed at their Spacerail system. I’m definitely going to give this a closer look, as it allows for way more bike storage than anything else out there.

  1. 'I can't say that I've seen anything like it.' Now belongs to Berm Peak and is Seth's personal slogan.

  2. 150-200 bucks seems like a decent price for something so unique and probably not the highest volume product, but I am gonma steal this idea and build it myself

  3. Clean solution. Didn’t know this existed commercially.

Barn door rails and door hangers with bike hooks is what I’ve been using for a couple years. Can find more hangers at most farm stores and all heavy duty and zinc coated.

  4. ive always been under the impression holding bikes like this was bad for them and gets air into brake hoses?

  5. You can build something like that with unistrut, trolleys, and some parktool hooks

  6. Lol Seth yeah you better crowd em into that garage it's pretty small???? you couldn't get over 200 in there..

  7. My wife will like it, but it seems i will be obliged to build more bikes. ????

  8. We got these as soon as they came out. The installation is pretty simple. They just mount to your roof (make sure it's on a beam), and it fits many more bikes than any other solution.

  9. DIY alternative: Unistrut secured to ceiling (open profile pointing down) then slide in 4" long strips of 3/4"ply cut to fit nicely with large j hooks threaded into them. A little bit of candle wax and the wooden blocks will slide nicely on the Unistrut. Have used this for years to hold 6 plus bikes in the garage. By no means as slick as this product but surely cheaper.

  10. I have been planning to make one of these out of real barn door sliders for about a year. When I saw this I was so excited until I realized I could build two multiple bike racks out of barn door hardware for the price of this thing.

  11. Looks really neat but it also costs $130 for the 1 rail and $77 per hook. This might be the most expensive way to store bikes.

  12. i thought this was a thing already! i cant believe nobody thought of this until now
