  1. The easiest way is to eat tempe is to pound garlic with salt, add water to it and marinate thinly sliced tempe. After roughly 10 minutes fry it in low heat to get it crispy

  2. TOP 5 YOUTUBE CHANNEL EASILY. Thank you for showing so many bangers! You have a great talent, and I appreciate you sharing!

  3. Aaaah tempe! You call this tempe orek I call this oseng buncis tempe 😂 I just ate it this morning with my mom, just cut it thinly, brine it in salt water, and fry it until crispy. Simple, humble, delicious. My mom LOVES tempe so much but actually her doctor prohibit her to eat soy products due to her ovary cancer :') she ate some bcs she need to restart her chemo regime, just so she can eat a lot and build strength against her chemo drugs

  4. Classic recipe, nice work. More people need to know about tempeh so its not so hard to find in stores

  5. How has the YouTube algorithm kept you secret from me for all those years?
Come here man, let me devour your videos 🤤

  6. I usually don't like tempeh, but I think I would really like it served like this 😀

  7. I would absolutely recommend this. I used to get this quite often from an Indonesian guy who made traditional Indonesian dishes and this was one of my favourites.

  8. When you our onion garlic leaves chilli
    First put chiili than
    Garlic
    Leaves
    Onion
Not all vegetables cooked in same temperature ( chiili and leaves give fragnance to oil ) other gives taste

  9. “As many chilies as you can handle?” Guy, the contents of that pan would be mostly red here. 🌶️🌶️🌶️ 🔥 🔥🔥 😋😋😋

  10. I had this in Europe once. initially thought it’s beef but a vegan friend of mine assured that it’s not a beef. Tastes good.

  11. nice recipe!! my favorite is always the original tempe mendoan (tempe fried in batter). different regions of Indonesia has different mendoan versions, crispy mendoan, soft & soggy (?) mendoan, yellow seasoning batter mendoan, many more! my favorite is the soft and soggy. one huge, white tempe dipped in batter with green onions, fried for a while but not until crispy to achieve that soft fried batter. absolute heaven, especially when it's hot

  12. I’ve never see tempeh like that. That looks more like tofu. The tempeh I’ve seen looks like a bunch of whole edamame pressed together.

  13. My fellow Indonesians, our guy here is a true class act. 👍 He respects the ingredients, honors tradition, and always gives credit to the country of origin. Unlike him, there’s this white woman (simplegreensoul) living in Malaysia who does the exact opposite. She makes Indonesian recipes, including Mandai and Tempe Mendoan, but never credits Indonesia. If you come across her videos, don’t engage—just skip them. She’s only trying to exploit our culture for engagement farming. Let’s not give her what she wants.

  14. Hi, what a coincidence. I also cooked orek tempe today. I used galangal and bay leaves instead of lemongrass and kaffir lime leaves. But I think bay leave in Indonesia is different from the one in Western countries. Is it difficult to get galangal in your country? Thank you for cooking Indonesian dishes.
