  1. I've watched a few DIY videos for self-watering containers. A few of those videos used a thin wooden dowel with a wine cork on the end… insert into the watering tube. When the dowel cannot be seen, the cork has floated down and therefor the container needs water. When filling the container with water, the cork floats up.

  2. I planted the purple ones but they died already I think I over watered it

  3. I went back to your 2018 video to watch the 3 part garden tour, however because your property is so large it gets confusing. Can you do a series focusing on one area and a time lapse of the tranaformation.

  4. I was thinking about the water level indicator problem. Could you use a dip stick like you would to check the oil in a car? I would think that could work.

  5. Hi Laura and Aaron! How do you winterize self-watering pots? Or do you have to? I purchased Gardener's self-watering inserts, which are accordion style with a capillary strip, but when I got them and read the instructions I saw that they recommend removing them from the pots in the winter. I don't really fancy having to empty my pots every year… Anyway, I was wondering if the aquapot insert is also supposed to be removed for winter. Thanks for another great video!

  6. I’ve used the Lechuza planters for four citrus trees for several y.ears now. Their water level system works great, check them out!

  7. I have a christmas tree water gauge that is just like a long dip stick. If you pull it out you can check the after level. I bet you could just put in a long wood dowel into the water tube.

  8. ????‍♀️. I’ve seen in previous videos that the soil tube is supposed to be packed with soil before topping off.
Is that no longer the case?
