Today we go inside one of the most well-regarded brands on the planet: Tudor. Our team made a trip to Le Locle, Switzerland where Tudor recently opened its own manufacture facility, and were given the opportunity to see basically everything from assembly to testing, and even some robotics (you’ll see). If you ever wondered where your Black Bay came from, this video will tell you. So join us for a full look inside Tudor.

So the “watchmaker” presses the premade hands on a premade dial attached to the premade movement and screws the premade case around it? Oh and the Swiss air… 🥱
Like watching a video about a factory making hotdogs
No no senor, it’s not “on those trays”.
Its “uno, dos, tres!”
Thank you for a very interesting video.
As an engineer i am passionate about human-integrated technology. The factory looks like one big clean room, the technology combined with the masters produce one of the best watches in the world (in my opinion)
Really? Swiss air? Like what does that even do? Also what happens when you pull out the crown?
So many good mems of Cole on Hodinkee and now he’s with Tudor. So it goes ! Congrats Cole 🙂
Incredibly informative! I am a massive Tudor fan and own several of them. I have been a quality engineer.
What i struggle to understand if the quality controls takes place every step, how can we see so many misaligned tudor bezel inserts? Are they allowing it or overlooking it? After all We are not in the Seiko skx price bracket anymore
Wow, who knew how extensive the design, testing, production, and QA is.
Cole sounds like he is trying to sound important….
We would like to see the case and dial production, please.
Fascinating video.
Impressive facility.
In a way reminds me of your visit to tissot.
Somehow this manufacturing process just doesn’t appeal in the same way others have in the past.
Unfair to compare to JLC or Breguet of course but Longines and Nomos visits were more appealing.
Well done for getting access and delivering a super quality video as well.
Best video yet.
This clinched me never buying a Tudor.
I hope this was the first of many videos… as mich as I appreciated it, it was basically assembling parts and robots automating transportation of those parts.
I guess it must be shocking to Omega fans when they found out that magnetism testing to 15K gauss has been practicing in the industry and the fact that they think only Omega watches can survive 15 gauss of magnetism must be making them feel like a tool 🤣
I think it can be argued that the process is cool but lacks artisanal touch that you would find in a Grand Seiko. I don’t feel the soul of Tudor here.
The tour guide ripped a fat bong before the video
Not the romance and craftsmanship of Grand Seiko, but interesting nonetheless. I guess there’s only so much you can say about conveyor belts, technicians jackets and robots. 🫤 kind of like trying to get excited about a vacuum factory.
"when parts come in from suppliers" hm 🤔
Thanks Teddy, great video!
This doesn’t show any real manufacturing just some basic assembly and robots. I would like to see cases being cast, jewels pressed into bridges, escapement construction etc. these movements are made by Kenissi except for the one Sellita that was shown. I’d like to go further in depth with Kenissi and their manufacturing process.
Great video. Surprised your not carrying Tudor.
Is this guy actually believes in that "swiss air" 💩?😏
Otherwise very nice video.
A whole lot of "kind of" and "sort of" this and that throughout the process
Really! Cole shouldn't have to soften his statements. Own your statements Cole.
Tudor as a brand is more confident…I'm sure.
That's a great video! I enjoy seeing how things are made. I want to get a Tudor someday (probably a Black Bay 58).
Finally Tudor tour!!!
Love Tudor but the guy sounds so pretentious
I'm just walking around with my "Swiss air"
It's Cole Pennington! i loved his videos from Hodinkee!
