  1. I would think cutting a chunk of the baseboard out would have been easier and let you drill the holes closer to the wall.

  2. I had a flashback of our home growing up when you mentioned your children's bedrooms not having their own heat source. 🥰 We grew up in a very old, double-planked house with a coal furnace. There were no ducts run to the upstairs and it had single pane windows. PA winters felt so different back then. They were colder with such blustery wind and drifting snow. It laid on the windowsills in little piles inside our bedrooms. The windowpanes frosted over inside in solid, wispy patterns that I thought were so beautiful. ❤ I remember thawing the frost with our hands and warm breath so we could look out. We bundled up in our beds, put winter hats on, and hunkered down under blankets … and you know what? We were warm, but we also were never sick. I still prefer to sleep in a cooler room, so you are onto something, I think! I bet you and your children, too, are rarely sick. Good job, Doug and Eevee. You are wonderful parents, hard workers, and such good people. You inspire me to be a better, more patient person every day. Love and blessings!

  3. It won't take long and you will not even notice the bump out, job well done.

  4. A neat and tidy install! I love your eye for detail and I had to chuckle at the painting of the casing! It looks great and blends in terrific! 🙂 We are considering getting a mini split but they are a bit pricy on a fixed income.

  5. That turned out nice. If you ever get tired of looking at the outside unit you could build some sort of small fence or screen to hide it.

  6. You have certainly made The living room mini split connections invisible. Those dark walls are really useful And it sets a great mood. Congratulations on another successful installation

  7. I couldn't have a youtube channel because I'd tell too many people off in the comments and never get subscribers. Your patience is admirable. Mini Split looks great and painting the cover blends it perfectly into the wall. If it works for you and your family, that's all that matters matters.

  8. Most people,e put the lines down the outside of the house, so this is very different 😊😊

  9. Very exciting to have AC. I do love AC, and the same way, I don’t like it too cold, but something to help keep things comfortable.
Do they make paintable bulk head units? If not they should.

  10. Great install, looks perfect. These units are so much better than a window unit that is inserted thru the window. Also, like you said, it is also a heater.

  11. I'm impressed that you know how to install an AC unit, a mini split. Curious where you learned how to do this? By modifying the unit doesn't that forfeit the warranty? I didn't understand, why you didn't install a whole house unit a few years ago when you were doing the majority of the renovations. Go with a split unit, the air handler in the attic crawl space and the AC condenser unit outside; run duct work and have a vent for each room. That's what I have in my house, also in Florida. I looked into the combination units, where the entire unit is outside, but would take so much to install and have to run all new duct work. I also looked into mini splits but wouldn't be that efficient for my needs, as I have to close off a few rooms. I don't want to sleep with the bedroom doors open in order to keep the rooms cool.
At least you have AC now, it's difficult to live in Florida without AC, we have such hot summers and 100% humidity for several months. We do get cold a couple of months every winter and it's nice to have heating.

  12. I'm shocked you chose to drill thru that oak floor, when your a perfectionist about all your work. You could have just disconnected it when you went to do the siding
