    One thing I would like to point out is that since your family already have history with diabetes. So when you directly consume so much fruits on empty stomach during iftar it tremendously spikes your insulin level. As a result it will impact your sugar levels in the long run. It is always adviced by doctors to start your meal with either a layer of protein or complex fibre like raw vegetables salads or any veggies in general or healthy fats like yougurt or dryfruits before consuming carbohydrate rich food like fruits which is rich is fructose and sugar. I hope it helps.
