What to make with…KIELBASA sausage | 3 easy recipes using Kielbasa

If you keep kielbasa sausage on hand, I’ve got 3 recipes for you to make! I almost always have some sort of smoked sausage or chicken sausage in the freezer, so these meals come in handy! (Bonus, they are one pot meals!)

Kielbasa Skillet Stew
5 strips of bacon
1 med. onion, chopped
1 lb fully cooked kielbasa, thinly sliced
2 cans (15 oz each) great northern beans, undrained
2 cans (8 oz each) tomato sauce
1 can (4 oz) chopped green chiles
2 med. carrots, thinly sliced
1/2 med. green pepper, chopped
1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
1/2 tsp dried thyme
1/8 tsp black pepper
We added a few cloves of minced garlic too

In a 12 inch skillet, cook bacon until crisp. Remove to a paper towel to drain. In drippings sautee onion and sausage until onion is tender (this is where we added the garlic). *If there’s excessive amount of bacon fat, fee free to drain. We didn’t. Stir in remaining ingredients and bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 45 minutes until all vegetables are tender, stirring occasionally. Crumble bacon over the top. Serve over rice.

Oh my goodness the Polska Kielbasa is one of my favorites, and all of these recipes look so yummy and I love using this sausage, when I make fried rice I use this in it because of the great flavor.   4. My go to recipes are gumbo (just include rotisserie chicken), Jambalaya, then the pasta. Also great for cheese and cracker plates. Good to have in fridge for emergency times when you cannot grocery shop. Not bad for pea or lentil soup also.

  5. I love to cut kielbasa into slices and then sautée it then I drain it (if needed) then I put it back in the pan and add BBQ and let it simmer then I serve it over rice sometimes I add pineapple to it as well so quick so simple but very yummy.

  6. I work for a school in the kitchen. 1/4 cup is usually what fits in the palm of your hand. Gentle cupping it. So yes, you had 2 cups of broccoli. I'm so jealous of your outside porch. I'm watching this in 2 inches of snow while it's still snowing. Northern Utah

  7. I had to smile when you lifted the lid on the skillet and water poured all over the floor.???? I thought I was the only one who did that. Most days, I actually throw a paper towel on the kitchen floor to mop up the water spills I make during cooking. I now feel I'm in good company.????

  9. My daughter use to call Kielbasa "Horseshoe meat" when she was little because of the shape- it looks like a horseshoe. She still calls it horseshoe meat even though she is 14 and knows it's real nake is kielbasa!????????

  10. I love cheese but cheese makes me violently sick. The creamy sausage pasta looks so good. I’m going to try it with the make believe it’s cheese. The area I live we grow Pueblo chilies. Plus we have a Chili Festival. I dehydrated a bag of the chilies the ground into powder. I would. substitute a little of the powder . Kielbasa Skillet Stew served over rice and cornbread yum. My family says kill bossa

  13. I made the creamy sausage pasta today and it was delicious. I made a couple of changes, I used a can of garlic ,basil and oregano tomatoes. It was a flavor bomb until I added a little bit of the cheese. I love cheddar cheese but it takes away from the taste of the taste that the tomatoes bring. Thank you for the recipe, and I love just listening to your show!

  14. ???????? TIP: To avoid the broccoli mess put a slice into the stem then pull the stem apart instead of cutting right through the heads of the broccoli, this way all the little bits don't fall off ???? love and peace from Australia as always ????????????
