Fun i read somewhere that there is evidence the fubgus ergot caused the trails. For ergot is a hallucinagenic fungus and they ate the ergot coated wheat and tripped balls.
Fun fact – I'm descended not only from 2 of the Salem women who were hung for witchcraft, but also Cotton Mathers and a judge who actively persecuted them. That'll make for fun family reunions in the afterlife! 😅
