Why Every Social Media Chef Uses the SAME Cutting Board

Why do all social media chefs use the SAME cutting board?

I’ll go into wood vs. plastic in my next video, as well as some other buying tips I’ve learned over the years. It may not be the sexiest tool in the kitchen, but you use a cutting board for almost every recipe, so I wanted to share some tips.

Thanks to @sonderlosangeles for inspiring these cutting board videos by sending over some of their beautiful cutting boards. It kills me to start scratching them up, but they are meant to be used.

  1. It may be more durable, but you'll still get the glue in your food. Just use single-piece cutting boards, with linseed oil and beeswax it will last pretty long.

  2. End grain boards don’t damage your knife as much, but are easier to damage using the knife than edge grain boards

  3. I want to surround myself with people like you in my life, Trigg. Incredibly kind, helpful, and knowledgeable.

Wonderful qualities. I love your channel.

  4. Are you a chef ? Or just some guy that cooks in front of a cam ? Il wait for the plastic one to come out and then il tell you what you are

  5. I feel like this video, while informative on its own and is a great insight in general, isn’t really suited for the YT shorts audience who are normal people or casual cooks and don’t invest that much into cooking as more serious cooks. I am in no way mocking the “filthy casuals”, like I enjoy myself a radioactive mac and cheese made with the microwave, so I’m not really one to speak on the matter. It’s like a prevalent issue in every video where it’s more targeted towards a specific hobby, especially prevalent in coffee videos. The reason why people do this is because they love cooking and are willing to go the extra mile for cookery and other gadgets to make their experience better. All I’m saying is, we as an audience shouldn’t bring down this dude who’s just sharing about his hobby online because he sounds “pretentious” or whatever. Like watching this video in isolation at least, it seems like he enjoys how he has a platform to share his niche hobbies. And it does kinda suck when people make fun of him and at least from what I see, he tries to answer them on the basis of why he enjoys home cooking so much. So in my opinion instead of leaving sarcastic comments in this short and many others, and forcing him to respond positively and share more about his hobby, why not make a genuine question if you’re interested in what he’s talking about? It doesn’t mean you have to agree with what he’s saying of course, but let him enjoy the things he does as one would let you enjoy the things you do
