Thats also a dumb question, if you ask to be put in the most strategically possition AKA give me the keys to your house. Hmmmm. Idk bout that as a boss

  2. @TheRealPinkshores

“How can I be guaranteed to be involved into projects that are critical to our strategic future”

  3. @chriss3097

Get your money. Don't listen to that guy! Every boss wants you to do kore for less. Always get what you want. Nothing is coming down the road so don't buy that BS. I need my pay now but I will make sure my work is worth more than my pay if that makes sense

  4. @JohnyLegend

Do the same amount of work… There is something like experience, take random guy without experience and we will see xD don't show me that idiot please… Shut up and don't worry 😂

  5. @MenacingBalls

Or, put an AirTag in their car or some sort of tracking device. Then find out where the live and take note of their address. When you negotiate a raise if he/she gets snippy with you, tell them their address and even bring up their family members names. Say very bad things will come to them if you don’t get a raise and watch the money start rolling in.

  6. @tegathemenace

This is the only form of hardwork that works. Selective hardwork. Only on the big projects where you'll be forefront. And very laid-back on the rest.
But you just do your best to score it for yourself. If he thought you worthy, you won't have to ask.

Still better than asking a raise because you feel like anyways. Ik many of you don't wanna hear that

  7. @rippedweevil

No, wholeheartedly dissagree, the people who think this way are the people who work for one company for half their life with no promotions, no reaises, and being treated like they don't matter, getting a job is a transaction, you are offering your time, be mindeful of what that's worth to you, not for them. Look out for number 1 always, never let anyone fool you like this

  8. @joestha1

This is an old school mindset and I truly believe there was a time and place where what the older guy said was absolutely correct. But we now live in a world where the goal isn’t to deliver the best service or product but rather how do you deliver just enough for people to buy in with the least amount of resources to earn the highest possible profit. God forbid you care and you’re good at your job and you actually look for work to be completed even outside of your workload. Instead of rewarding you they’ll quietly watch you burn out and give you a pat on the back in the form of donuts and pizza party. Don’t be the company man just take your experience somewhere else and get paid more cause trust me your replacement most likely will get what they ask for.

  9. @ADenton

I’m a boss! When (GOOD) team members ask that second question—How can I better contribute to the success and growth of this firm?—the only vibes are POSITIVE! This is a life-giving question and music to the ears of any healthy employer. 3 months ago fired someone who was considered “irreplaceable” to my company at one point. Newsflash: Most employees/contractors are replaceable.

  10. @gustavoschrf

I dont think you need to negotiate being involved in important projects. Just get involved. Do stuff. Expand outside of the bounds of your job description. Salary will follow

  11. @almond731

The employee is irreplaceable. Doesnt mean the employer can do much. Not sure why this guy still thinks the employers have the upper hand. Ive seen sone of our tech guys get 50% bumps from threatening to quit because theyre the only ones who know the system

  12. @BigJuiceTheOriginalGypsy

I’ve tripled my wage since 2018 by job hopping with no college degree, if you feel like you’re not valued please just go elsewhere. Gone are the days of spending 30 years at a company and getting rightfully compensated for it.

  13. @AVOALWAYS

You cant ask for more money because then others will want the same. You have to expand your role and responsibilities in a way that is beneficial for the company to make a wage increase rational

  14. @drmarsh4287

I was an irreplacable employee at a job I had for a decade. I told them i needed a 10k raise per year, and they told me no. That was July of 2023. That company is no longer around, and now I make 30k more a year. The moral of the story is that every company is replacable. If you think you aren't replacable, then find someone who's willing to pay you your worth and let the other company fail. At the end of the day, my wife and son are the only people I'm loyal to.

  15. @valreck2986

2 years at a Place. Do your best! Network with your colleagues and leave the place to find another job while demanding 20% more than you got from the last job. Fuck this “irreplaceable” shit. Your job is to take care of yourself and your family and THEN to generate more revenue for your company. If you really think you’re irreplaceable, you are about to find out the hard way. 😂

  16. @JohnPlataIII

This dude wants us to not ask for higher pay but ask to be integrated into higher levels of work because we are irreplaceable. But in essence that makes us even more irreplaceable which then validates our reason to ask for more money. It's full circle. What a great way to f*** over a company by simply making it so that if you ever quit the entire company fails😂

  17. @rodrigo9500

So you have to ask for more work in hopes that it will turn out in more money. But does not mean it is goong to happen.

  18. @trailman20

That boss will look you in the eye and tell you that you need to work harder and longer hours to guarantee that and then never fallow through with it then you'll quit to work at a job that pays better
