Will Growing Family Upsize or Remodel to Make Room for 4 Kids? | Love It or List It | HGTV

Rachel and Adam’s family has outgrown their home, with three of their four children sharing one bedroom. Adam sees plenty of potential in the house to add more space, but work-at-home mom Rachel is ready to move to a larger house with a mudroom, playroom and guest room. Hilary Farr hunts for a way to enhance the function and hidden space in the house, while David Visentin searches for the home of their dreams with room to spare.

When a house no longer feels like home, homeowners are left with a big financial and emotional question: renovate or sell it? Love It or List It helps fed-up homeowners decide. In each hour-long episode Realtor David Visentin and designer Hilary Farr compete for the homeowners’ final decision to stay or go. David’s insider perspective on the real estate market helps target listings to prospective buyers, but Hilary is determined to show homeowners that, within their budget, she can transform their worn-out house into a castle they can love. If the owners decide to list it, Hilary’s hard work adds to the home’s resale value. It’s a tough decision either way. Which choice would you make?

  1. I remember my parents first home 2 rooms and no bathroom. that they built. I was too young to remember the outside toilet.

  2. lol, they chose to have 4 kids, they don't get to cry about space. How about in the future either the wife takes "it" somewhere else or, I dunno, uses birth control, or move before you have another kid? Common sense.

  3. That was surely a tuff decision in this case. The family did the right step by seeling…however Hilllary did a fantastic job.

  4. For me it's always hilarious to hear about 5 bedroom and 4 bathrooms.
    Theire home turned out beautiful.
