  1. Thanks Dr Becky and Happy (rest) of the New Year to you and Dr. Keith. Its fate that I heard your "dont quit before the magic happens" within a few days. That will be my mantra for the near future (40 days) and then I will need to remember, "sometimes it stinks to be Keto". I know Keto works both for weight loss, reducing my A1C and inflammation. Even if I stop losing wt, as I have in the past, I still need to be Keto/lo carb for the latter benefits. I cant throw the baby out with the bathwater.

I've done intermittent fasting along with keto diet for 2yrs straight, you eventually begin to realize that eating isn't that much of a big deal and that desire to be satisfied by food will fade away, I ruined my fast by outside influence and becoming lazy to prep my own meal, lesson learned is if your doing this do it for yourself, you don't need a partner or motivation all you need to do get your own food and prep it yourself, listen to no one, it changed my body, mental, and spiritual

  3. Learning to pace your self is indeed a challenge, I also learned that consuming nuts must be approached with the same caution as cashews and pecans are a double edged sword with my pumpkin desserts.

  4. Well I'm visiting my daughter today and it's going to be pizza for lunch. Big cheat! This will be my first pizza this year, and also my last. Nothing wrong with pizza! So cheats come along, the big secret is just to keep them to a minimum.

  6. Thanks Dr Becky. I needed this. Some days it DOES stink to be keto. My husband is a choco-holic & it's SO hard not to jump in & eat chocolate with him! But I'm turning to walnuts & pistachios in my salads to satisfy cravings. It's working, as is going to the gym 3X/week. Blood pressure is down, too. Thanks for the motivation!

  7. Turning down free pie … it's inhumane, it's a tragedy, it's a violation of human rights … Ok, that last one may be a step too far especially at the moment. Still. Slava Ukraine!

  8. The few people I know who jumped on the keto bandwagon were more concerned about fat bombs and getting their 20% of carbs. When I suggested zero carbs, they'd look at me like I was crazy.

  12. I feel like I've given myself license to eat keto sweets like Choc Zero chocolates every day. Before keto I never would have had regular sugary treats every day!! Gotta fix that.

    All the longest living healthiest cultures on Earth eat a moderate to high carb diet !
