Professional chef King Phojanakong from Cook Like King and home cook John are trading recipes and hitting the kitchen to make some of the best hot dogs you’ve ever seen. We set John up with $228 worth of ingredients and King’s over-the-top recipe while sending a more modest (but still pretty respectable for a hot dog) $19 worth of goods back the other way. Food scientist Rose dialed in to lend John some expert advice while chef King worked some magic to take his simpler ingredients to the next level.

Chef King didn’t make a hotdog, he made a corn dog. The minute you put a hotdog on a stick it’s no longer a hotdog.
Because everyone has a hotel pan at home…
King looks a bit like Lorenzo. Or am i the only one
John really wanted to cause chaos by having ketchup in a Chicago dog
King is so amazing!!!
Haha. How is $18 not the high end for hot dogs.
From ugly dumpling to ugly hotdog
"Ketchup and hash browns." Emily's ears perk up!
"IT WAS GONNA BE BUSSIN" omg I had to hear a younger person at work explain it to another person with a sentence what that meant ahhh that's so funny
"I DON'T KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS" me too John me too
This episode makes Ordinary Sausage jealous.
Haha, good thing a pro chef didn’t swap with me, I only use buns, wieners, and butter on the bun because who doesn’t butter their bread?
I LOVE Chicago Dogs. Most people aren't familiar with them and think I'm crazy when I make one! Orange Julius is where I first discovered them many many years ago! Also, I like it better with cucumber than pickle spear.
Yeah I think I'll just run to the superstore and get a pack of Nathan's and go from there
