3 Interior Designers Transform The Same Cozy Living Room | Space Savers | Architectural Digest

We gave interior designers Mandy Cheng, Erick Garcia, and Noz Nozawa a photo of the same cozy living room—then asked each of them to create a design for it in their particular style, however they pleased. Three artists, one canvas, each bringing something different to the space. See which designer comes closest to creating a living room you wouldn’t mind idling the hours away in.

  2. I love Mandy's design, but except for the floating fireplace, which is not my thing, I love Erick''s doors and modern style. Would be difficult to choose. Between Mandy and Noz, if you do put in a door, I much prefer Mandy's door with much more view of the outside. But Noz did a really nice design, although I would prefer a bit more quiet wallpaper, even if the same colourstyle.

  3. Mandys is a Dream!! When I saw those checker board patterns I was scared at first but she really pulled every piece together to make this beautiful living space

  4. Mandy's design is very practical and realistic while having a fun and artistic touch, her designs reminds me of how Emma Chamberlain did her home.

  5. I love these videos! Keep them coming. Especially appreciating this video of a small space because it is similar to my living room, which has so much potential but needs the input of designers with a vision. I've gotten some great ideas for an incredible space from this video. Thank you, designers!

  6. I just want to know WHY Noz has been on this series the most out of all the designers featured – especially when her designs are the least grounded in reality and how people actually live? She offers so few ideas that we can actually apply to our homes….and yet she's here again. Who at AD does she know???

  7. In this case, I think all three designers designed for themselves not a specific or even imaginary client. Each space is a reflection of their own preferences and how they themselves would use this room. I liked both ladies' designs. Except for Noz's wallpaper choice. It is as if – sometimes anyway – she intentionally destroys the room design/vibe that she created and wreaks havoc by introducing one contentious piece:). Erick's design was carried out in his signature aesthetic which I adore but in this case and in this setting I found it too cold for my taste and I took exception to his 60's reference. Why would you turn a natural earthy retreat into a soulless beige furniture showroom? Those metal fireplaces more often than not were bright red in the 60's. Just saying since he alluded to the 60's design style. But take it from someone who lived in the 60's, he ignored the crucial elements of color and vibrancy. Stone would have been warmed up with deep shag or fur… BTW we loved our house plants as much as the Millenials do today.

  8. I liked Erick's design the best, but I don't love the built-in bench or the daybed. They don't look very comfortable or inviting to me. The other designs were too busy for my taste. I especially did not like Noz's favorite room she's ever designed, and the crowning touch, the artwork of the creature, I don't think I could be in the same room with. I guess there was a lot to learn from each designer though, even though I didn't really love any of the rooms to the point I would replicate them. Maybe successful designers do interesting and unusual things that most people wouldn't think of, and their clients rein them in so that it's not overwhelming to the senses. I did love something that each designer did mention though. But the finished products were not rooms I would want to have to spend much time in. I'm disappointed because I was hoping to get some really great inspiration for my own living room. However, the portfolio pictures look pretty good. Maybe I should study those a little closer.

  9. I'm celebrating a $32k stock portfolio today. I started this journey with $4000 have invested on time and also with the right tearn now have time for my family and the life ahead of me
