4 Levels of Fried Rice: Amateur to Food Scientist | Epicurious

We challenged chefs of three different skill levels – amateur Emily, home cook Lorenzo, and professional chef King from the Institute of Culinary Education – to make fried rice. After each of them had presented their creation, we asked a food scientist to review their work. Which rice would you ask for twice?

  1. The level 3 chef was on point until he put mayo and sriracha ????

  2. I've seen these videos made by the same channel over and over again. I think what would be really cool is if the food was evaluated by a group of maybe 3-4 people instead. Because I often question the judgement of the 'judge' they choose at the end.

  3. King's fried rice has me very intrigued. Never thought to use mayo in my fried rice.

  4. I see level 1 chef do things way too absurd or literally level 1, and I still think they already know better way.
Is it because they try to show the easiest way to cook something? I feel like those level 1 chefs cook way better than shown here

  5. My vote for Emily's Fried Rice! I don't do shrimp (allergy) and her fried rice looks delish. With my traditional flavor profiles, I think I would really like that one.

  6. The chefs look so unhealthy. It’s strange that the person who knows food best looks the least healthy T___T

  7. This is the worst fried rice I've ever seen, one of these people is supposed to be a professional chef!?

  8. Most ametuer 3 types of fried rice i ever seen, none of those arent fried rice we need uncle roger!

  9. Of these 3, I probably prefer #1. But she should not have added ginger, chilli and ketchup in the end.

  10. These chefs tryna do too much. All you need for Egg Fried Rice is Egg, Fry, and Rice. No need for fancy stuff – Uncle Roger.
